Power and Mattappally Chair LCJ’s Fall 2026 Meeting

The Chairs for LCJ’s Fall Meeting, Caroline Power and Jay Mattappally, have extensive complex litigation experience, are veteran LCJ leaders active in multiple committees, and share a commitment to advancing excellence in civil litigation. They are assembling an outstanding program and are now seeking your ideas for meeting topics.

The meeting will be held on December 2-4, 2026, at the Westin New York at Times Square. Meeting registration will open for LCJ members in September.

Caroline Power is a partner with Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Philadelphia. She represents pharmaceutical, medical device, and technology companies in complex litigation, including multidistrict litigation and other high-stakes product liability matters. Caroline has extensive experience presenting complex scientific and technical evidence, preparing expert and fact witnesses for deposition and trial, and supporting bellwether and state court trials involving sophisticated medical and scientific issues. She was recognized as an LCJ Outstanding Contributor in 2024 and is an alumna of LCJ's 2022 Fellows Program.

Jay Mattappally is a Partner at Irwin Fritchie Urquhart Moore & Daniels LLC in New Orleans, where he defends manufacturers in complex environmental, product liability, medical device, pharmaceutical, chemical, and consumer product litigation. He serves in key national expert team, coordinating, and trial counsel roles in nationwide litigation and draws on his educational background in biomedical engineering and engineering management to effectively address highly technical scientific issues. Jay is an alumnus of LCJ's inaugural Fellows Program and continues to help lead our Fellows program. He is also active in our defense organization members, including the IADC and the DRI, where he serves on the Center for Law and Public Policy's AI Task Force.
